Full Moon in Virgo

The Full Moon in Virgo occurs on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 8:17am GMT.

When thinking about the significations behind the zodiac, Caroline Casey points out there is a pattern whereby the energy of each sign can be perceived as a response to the energy projected by the previous sign.

So it can be useful to contrast Virgo to the sign before it, Leo. Where Leo can describe dynamism and exuberance, Virgo can be seen as an inward pull and grounding.

Leo shines its light in order to illuminate others; Virgoan energy homes in on details and illuminates patterns to analyze in order to serve.

Leonine energy focuses on creative self-expression, whereas in Virgo, the focus is on critical faculties, and the urge to organize and expedite the execution of the topic at hand.

With Virgo, the lower octave is reflected in perfectionist tendencies, and perhaps an obsession with detail at the expense of the bigger picture. The inner critic is unyielding and may also be projected outwardly as well.

In its higher octave, Virgo's talent for detail, alacrity, and efficiency is subsumed under its greater desire to serve. The topics of health, hygiene, and healing are often associated with Virgo, but really any topic requiring attention to detail can come under Virgo's purview.

Mercury is both domicile ruler and exalted in this sign. Although Mercury also rules Gemini, the exaltation in Virgo describes how the planetary energy functions at its best when operating within the bounds of analysis and practicality.

This full moon can be perceived as a culmination of intentions you may have set—or projects you may have initiated—around the time of the Virgo New Moon back in September 2020. Can you think back to the week following September 17th, and recall where you were at that time in terms of things you were embarking on?

This full moon is a wonderful time to release habits that don't serve you, and to release anything that impacts your ability to be organized.

Additionally, this moon will be inconjunct Saturn and Chiron, but trine Uranus. This could indicate a blockage of intuition, and/or an encounter with a wound to your ability to receive and feel empathy--either internally or externally through contact with another. However, the trine could manifest the day before the full moon as an epiphany to help jump-start wherever you are stuck.

Wishing you full moon blessings from the heart!
